Civil/Structural Engineer

Position Overview

Cenergy is looking for an innovative civil/structural engineer looking to design and help construct a range of natural gas facilities in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The c/s engineer will play an integral role in our multi-disciplined team. The c/s engineer will work within our Engineering Department to design earthwork, environmental, foundation, and structural systems for natural gas facilities including interconnects, dehydration, compression, and pigging facilities. The candidate would need to posses a Professional Engineering License in West Virginia and have, or be able to gain, reciprocity for the following states:

Ohio Pennsylvania Virginia Kentucky Maryland

Others as required



  • Act as lead civil engineer for assigned projects
  • Interact with various engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients
  • Provide input for the initial project schedule and support maintenance of the civil portion of the project schedule
  • Provide man hour and material estimates for project proposals as needed
  • Perform and review Civil & Structural calculations
  • Review design drawings for technical accuracy
  • Follow company and customer procedures when designing project
  • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities while maintaining quality teamwork by routinely collaborating with the project team
  • Develop foundation plans for:
    • Modular and Rigid-frame buildings
    • Skid mounted equipment
    • Heavy vessel-type assemblies
    • Piping, etc
  • Erosion and Sediment Control plans
  • Building permits
  • Earthwork permits
  • Confirming and stamping skid and foundation drawings




  • Proven working experience within the civil and structural disciplines
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional Engineering License
  • BS/MA in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience



The candidate should be able to perform calculations, as required, using STAAD.Pro software package. Candidate should also be proficient in the use of the following software packages:

Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D (latest release) Autodesk Inventor Design Suite (latest release) MS Office Products
